At Career Point World School, Jodhpur, we believe in taking learning beyond the classroom. Our Class 9 and 10 students recently enjoyed an educational field trip to the beautiful Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, located near the famous Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.
This special park, spread over 72 hectares, is home to desert plants, ancient rocks, and ecological restoration work. It was created in 2006 and opened to the public in 2011 as a way to bring back native plant life and protect the region’s natural heritage.
As the students walked along the well-marked trails, they saw unique rock formations made of volcanic rocks, sandstone, and welded tuff – some of which are over 700 million years old ! These rocks have been declared National Geological Monuments of India by the Geological Survey of India.
During the trip, guides and teachers explained how Desert Ecosystems are restored and why Native plants and rocks are so important for the environment. Students also learned about Geology, BioDiversity, and how nature teaches us about the Earth’s History.
The students enjoyed exploring the trails, taking photos, and asking lots of questions. It was a fun and educational experience that brought their science lessons to life. They returned to school with new knowledge, fresh thinking, and a greater love for nature.
This trip was a perfect mix of Learning, Adventure, and Environmental Awareness – just the kind of experience we love to give our students at Career Point World School, Jodhpur.
