Unplugged & Empowered: How CPWS Promotes Healthy Digital Habits Through Engaging Saturday Activities

In today’s hyper-connected world, teaching young minds how to maintain a healthy balance between screen time and real-world experiences is one of the most vital life skills we can impart. On Saturday, 25 July 2026, CPWS organized an inspiring and interactive Saturday Activity Session centered on digital well-being, creative expression, and self-awareness. From our primary learners in Grade I to our secondary scholars in Grade IX, the entire campus vibrated with active participation, thoughtful discussions, and creative energy.

Primary Wing (Grades I–V): “My Happy Offline Time Chart”

For our primary students, the objective was simple yet profound: rediscovering the joy of screen-free living. Students in Grades I through V created vibrant, imaginative “My Happy Offline Time Charts.”

Through drawings, crafts, and personal reflection, the children mapped out their favorite real-world hobbies, ranging from outdoor sports and bicycle riding to reading storybooks, gardening, and spending quality time with family and pets.

Key Highlights:

  • Creative Spark: Visually celebrating real-world play over smartphone reliance.

  • Mindful Routines: Building early awareness about the benefits of unplugged activities.

  • Positive Commitments: Encouraging practical, daily screen-free habits at home.

Middle & Secondary Wing (Grades VI–IX): “Is Social Media Controlling Me?”

As students transition into adolescence, social media platforms occupy a significant portion of their daily routines. To encourage critical thinking and digital literacy, students in Grades VI through IX engaged in a thought-provoking Essay Writing activity titled “Is Social Media Controlling Me?”

The students tackled the topic with remarkable maturity and insight. Through well-structured essays, they examined pressing modern challenges like algorithm addiction, peer pressure, screen fatigue, and the necessity of intentional scrolling.

Core Themes Explored:

  • Algorithmic Awareness: Understanding how digital platforms capture user attention.

  • Mental Well-Being: Exploring the psychological impact of constant virtual comparisons.

  • Responsible Digital Citizenship: Moving from passive content consumers to conscious tech users.

Key Outcomes & The CPWS Vision

The Saturday Activity proved to be a magnificent success, fully achieving its intended educational and developmental objectives. Overall, the session successfully fostered:

  • Critical Thinking: Encouraged older students to evaluate their technology habits objectively.

  • Creative Expression: Offered primary students a fun, artistic outlet to celebrate offline life.

  • Self-Regulation: Provided practical tools and mindsets for healthier screen time management.

At CPWS, true education extends far beyond academic textbooks. Preparing students for a modern digital world requires building emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and responsible life habits. We extend our warmest congratulations to all our young participants and faculty members for making this Saturday Activity day engaging, meaningful, and deeply impactful!
